What yogurt is best for lactose intolerance?

Lactose-free yogurts like Arla LactoFREE natural yogurt are made with cow’s milk, but the lactose is removed. That means you can still enjoy the natural dairy taste and nutrients like protein, calcium and vitamin B12, without the lactose. At Arla, we use a special filtering technique to remove the lactose and retain all the goodness.

Does yogurt hurt your stomach if you’re lactose intolerant?

Dairy products like Arla LactoFREE natural yogurt can naturally have less lactose than milk, so can be easier to digest if you’re only mildly lactose intolerant. This is because of the live bacteria present in yogurt that help to break down some of the lactose. To avoid the risk of stomach problems altogether, it’s worth going for a lactose free yogurt.

Can you eat yogurt on a lactose free diet?

Yes, you can enjoy yogurts like Arla LactoFREE, which contain all the goodness of dairy including calcium and protein but without any of the lactose.

Is lactose free the same as dairy free?

No, lactose free and dairy free aren’t the same thing. Lactose free products can be made using cow’s milk, like with Arla LactoFREE natural yogurt. Dairy free means a product is made without cow’s milk, using plant-based sources such as nuts and grains. This means dairy free products will always be lactose free, while lactose free doesn’t always mean dairy free.

Are Arla yogurts lactose free?

Only our Arla LactoFREE yogurt range is lactose free. Other ranges such as Arla Skyr and Arla Protein yogurts do contain lactose.

Is lactose free yogurt good for you?

What does lactose free yogurt taste like?
