Divide dough into equal portions

If you are making more than one pizza out of one dough, divide it into equal portions based on how many pizzas you want to make. By doing this, each pizza will have the same thickness, allowing them to cook consistently in the oven. You can divide the dough by eye or use a kitchen scale for more accuracy.

Prevent the dough from sticking

To keep your dough from sticking as you work with it, make sure your hands are damp and your work surface is well-coated with flour. Lay the dough on parchment paper dusted with cornmeal or semolina and then roll it out. This prevents the dough from sticking and makes it easy to transfer to the oven.

Use a pizza stone

A pizza stone helps distribute heat evenly and absorbs excess moisture from the dough, creating a crisp crust with a satisfying crunch. Preheat the stone to about 240 °C before placing the pizza on top to ensure the dough cooks quickly and evenly.

Its firm texture allows it to hold up well on the pizza, becoming slightly crispy as it bakes. Dry chorizo is widely available and requires no pre-cooking, making it a convenient option for pizza toppings.
How do I store chorizo pizza?
Store leftover chorizo pizza by placing it in an airtight container or wrap it tightly in foil and keep it in the fridge for up to 3 days. When you are ready to enjoy it again, reheat it in the oven to bring back the crispiness of the crust and the full flavour of the chorizo.
Can I freeze chorizo pizza?

Place the wrapped slices in a freezer-safe bag or container and pop it into the freezer. Make a flavourful chorizo pizza from scratch

Making chorizo pizza from scratch is surprisingly easy, and if you have never tried it before, this recipe is a great place to start. Top the crust with tomato sauce and delicious add-ons. What makes this pizza stand out is how effortlessly the ingredients complement each other; nothing feels too heavy, but everything feels just right.

Perfectly crispy homemade crust

A pizza’s crust makes all the difference between a good slice and a great one, and our homemade version is sure to win you over. Both thin and sturdy, the crust crisps up beautifully in the oven, transforming into a beautiful base for all the toppings.

Each bite delivers a pleasant crunch, while the base stays soft enough to hold the sauce and toppings without turning soggy. It is this balance between crispness and lightness that makes the crust truly enjoyable. Whether you like your pizza thin or a little chewier, this dough adapts perfectly.

Rich tomato sauce with melted mozzarella and fresh herbs

This homemade tomato sauce brings the pizza to life with its rich, tangy taste, infused with sautéed garlic, onions, and a hint of chilli. As the sauce simmers, the balsamic vinegar provides a subtle sweetness that contrasts beautifully with the smoky chorizo and the smooth mozzarella.

Spread generously over the crisp crust, the sauce becomes a delightful foundation for the toppings. The mozzarella melts deliciously in the oven, creating golden spots that blend with the red tomato sauce sheen. Sprinkle fresh herbs like oregano or basil on top for colour and a fragrant finish.

Spice things up for pizza night

If you want to shake things up, adding a sliver of spice can turn your pizza night into something unexpected and fun. And with this chorizo pizza, you are in for a spicy treat. Whether it is a cosy evening or a gathering with friends, the extra heat livens up the experience and keeps everyone reaching for another slice. If you are looking for something to break the routine, a pizza with a spicy kick is a sure way to make your pizza night feel special and a little adventurous.

For the perfect pizza night, serve the pizza with delicious sides like a refreshing Greek pasta salad. Try other options like roasted winter vegetables or a spinach potato salad for balance, and kick the night off with gorgeous avocado hummus and vegetable sticks as a tasty starter.

Find your favourite toppings

Chorizo may be the star of this pizza, but the possibilities for toppings are endless.

For a hint of sweetness, thin slices of red onion or roasted peppers are excellent choices, providing balance to the spicy chorizo. If you want an extra kick, try adding sliced jalapeños or a sprinkle of chilli flakes for a fiery touch. Manchego cheese brings a nutty richness that complements the mozzarella and chorizo.

If you are looking for more texture, sautéed mushrooms or black olives offer a deeper, savoury element. For a lighter twist, fresh rocket or a sprinkle of sea salt added just before serving can brighten the flavours.
