Flan

Flan is Spain's national dessert and has a wonderful orange taste. This dessert is reminiscent of a Crème caramel. Let the sugar really brown in the frying pan before covering the moulds.

Instructions

Step 1
  • Heat the oven to 150 °.
Step 2
  • Boil the milk and let it cool. Pour sugar and water into a frying pan to create caramel. Cook on high heat until the sugar is yellow-brown, for about 4 minutes.
Step 3
  • Pour the caramel into 8 small ovenproof moulds one at a time and quickly turn the moulds so that the edges are covered by caramel.
Step 4
  • Whisk eggs, egg yolks, salt, sugar, orange peel and milk. And pour into the moulds.
Step 5
  • Bake in the lower part of the oven for about 40 minutes.
Step 6
  • Let the mixture cool and stand in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Place the moulds onto plates and serve."
