White wine sauce

Delicious white wine sauce with lemon that can be prepared ahead of time - it just needs reheating before serving!

Ingredients

Butter
2½ tbsp
Shallots
3
White wine
200 ml
Chicken stock
300 g
Whipped cream
300 ml
Salt
Lemons

Instructions

Step 1

  • Peel and finely chop the onion. Fry on low heat in 1 tablespoon butter without browning. Add wine, stock and cream.

Step 2

  • Boil together for about an hour, until about 500ml remains. Strain the sauce and pour back into the saucepan.

Step 3

  • Season with salt and lemon juice. Whisk or mix in the rest of the butter just before serving.

Top Tip

For a different flavour, why not also try using Fish Stock instead of Chicken stock.
